DefenseCore™ from SIM-X is the first of its kind ammunition for every-day carry, combining hyper-velocity, performance recoil, and optimized on-target, in-target terminal performance when needed most. The patent pending synthetic-polymer core is perfectly married to the proprietary jacket, achieving outstanding performance in all handguns in the areas that matter most. The 45 ACP offers an astounding 500+ foot pounds of energy at the muzzle… something previously unheard of in most small pistol rounds. DefenseCore™ helps put devastating rounds on target, in critical situations when it matters the most.
Technology
The SIM-X 45 ACP DefenseCore SubMass™ core(s) are approximately 80% – 90% lighter than standard lead core ammunition, but with equal or greater impact and tensile strength. Combined with muzzle velocities nearly twice that of standard pistol and carbine rounds these SubMass™ projectiles are light weight but have heavy impact. All of this is accomplished without firearm modification or the need for +P pressures.
SYNTHETIC COMPOSITE CORE
SIM-X proprietary synthetic core is a heavy-duty viscoplastic material that behaves as a solid but has the characteristics of a non-Newtonian fluid. The result is a lightweight, SubMass™ projectile that achieves a better gas seal in the bore. This translates into very high velocities combined with perfect control over penetration and expansion, cycling the firearm without the need for weapon modification or +P pressures.
KINETIC-CERAMIC CORE
The Kinetic-Ceramic core is 10X stronger than lead with a polymer matrix that produces flexible properties. These properties create a projectile that achieves a better gas seal in the bore, allowing significantly higher velocities. Additionally, SubMass™ technology cycles firearms smoothly and effectively and without modification or +P pressures.
WEIGHT SAVINGS
SubMass™ core technology yields an additional important benefit, namely weight savings. 50 rounds of SIM-X .45 ACP are approximately 53% lighter than the same quantity of standard 230 grain .45 ACP. REDUCED RECOIL
SIM-X SubMass™ bullet technology produces lower recoil. Using our proprietary jacket and viscoplastic or kinetic-ceramic core, we are able to produce very high velocities with an efficiency that avoids +P pressures and the need to alter the firearm in any way.
ENVIRONMENTALLY DESIGNED
SIM-X patent pending synthetic and kinetic-ceramic core materials are 100% non-toxic. For LE and military trainers, this means that tens of thousands of dollars normally allocated to bullet trap cleaning and lead recovery/mitigation can be reallocated for higher priorities within their training budgets.
